Farm to Plate – Statewide Food Summit
April 10, 2010
Rutland Middle School
The purpose of the summit is to bring together stakeholders from the whole state to review and vet the draft plan goals and provide specific feedback to guide final drafting of the Farm to Plate strategic plan. An inspirational keynote speaker will begin the day and many breakout sessions will be organized to seek feedback on draft recommendations. Registration required - $10 suggested donation to help cover costs – Lunch served.

The Farm to Plate (F2P) Initiative, approved at the end of the 2009 Vermont legislative session, directs the Vermont Sustainable Jobs Fund, in consultation with the Sustainable Agriculture Council & other stakeholders, to develop a 10-year strategic plan to strengthen Vermont’s farm and food sector. These grants support projects that make Vermont’s specialty crops more competitive – there are a range of crops and range of projects that are eligible.

Fundraiser for Haiti-February 10th
Join the Buffalo Mountain Cooperative, Claire's Restaurant and us at the CAE for a silent and live auction, market place of local foods, crafts and services, plus an exhibit of Haitian artwork.
The event will take place at Claire's Restaurant and The Center for an Agricultural Economy on Wednesday, February 10th from 5pm to 10pm.
We encourage you to donate to this cause. Examples are baked goods, homemade canned goods, vegetables, your labor or skill, or homemade craft or artwork. Donations for the auction can be dropped off in our office at 41 S. Main St in Hardwick.
Bob Belenky of Marshfield, who has been studying the conditions of street children in Haiti, will share his perspectives and a slide show. Money collected will go to the Neges Foundation located in Leogane, Haiti.
